The Fu Hui Scholarship Plan was incepted in 2005, handing out scholarships to 275 undergraduate students in Guangdong. The post secondary scholarship program was later expanded to other provinces such as Jiangxi, Shaanxi and Sichuan, and extended to graduate students at the master’s level. Most of the beneficiaries were from poor rural villages and were at the verge of having to abandon their education pursuits. Fu Hui’s assistance helped them in covering the costs of books and stationary as well as helping them meet the basic meals and nutrition and other miscellaneous expenses.

In helping these impoverished university and senior high students with financial assistance, Fu Hui hopes that it will help them overcome their feeling of inferiority. Over the past twelve years, twenty six universities have received scholarships from Fu Hui. In total, Fu Hui had handed out 7,500 scholarships and grants in the amount of close to ten million RMB.

Strict Screening Process

Fu Hui has a very strict screening process. In addition to scrutinizing the financial conditions, we select students who have good marks as well good behavior. We would deliver the scholarships into their own hands and had held hundreds of seminars with them to let them know they are no longer the most desolate, that due to their hard work they have started the process of changing their destinies. These are followed up with ongoing correspondence with them to further understand their university lives, the obstacles they faced, and try to find out any problems as soon as possible to help them resolve them.
