"Future Enlightenment" is a charity event organized by Fu Hui Alumni. For the first such event held, last year’s theme was "Imagine Your Future Career". It opened up the possibility of a diversity of careers for Liangshan children. This year's event was held at Huili Yimen Middle School. This year’s theme was "Caring for Left-behind Children". It was recommended by a teacher of Yimen Middle School, a former Fu Hui Scholarship student of Huili Experimental Middle School, Ms. Zhou Hongcui. While teaching at the school, she noticed that there were many students whose parents did not live at home with them. She discussed this issue with the leader of the Future Enlightenment project, Bu Zi Mo Sha Ge and jointly organized this summer camp activity, pooling efforts from all parties to provide warmth to these children.
This summer camp was held from August 15th to August 24th.The 9-day camp activities focused on the themes of "living independently" and "chasing dreams for the future". A series of activities were organized jointly by Southwest Petroleum University Nanchong Campus "Help Young Children to Pursue Dreams Volunteer Service Team” and Fu Hui Alumni volunteers. Activities included reading classes with group reading and then sharing their thoughts on stage; arts and music classes to cultivate interests and hobbies; after-school tutoring, making full use of Yimen Middle School library resources and college student volunteer resources via the internet to answer students' questions. Professors from Southwest Petroleum University were invited to conduct online lectures on "Academic Planning" and "Mental Health Development" for students. Through these short summer camp interactions, students were encouraged to get to know themselves better through reading, learn to live independently, explore their goals, and love life.
On the camp closing day, each group arranged performances such as art exhibition, handicraft show, painting exhibition, dances, choirs, and recitations. Volunteers reviewed and shared the results of the activities with the students. Summer camp leader, Bu Zi Mo Sa Ge, thanked all the volunteers for their support in making this summer camp a success. She said “The growth of the students is the greatest success of the activity”, and she also made progress herself.
