It was a clear summer day with gentle winds and a bright sun shining on flowers in full bloom. The 2023 "Ayi Forest" summer camp officially opened at Huili Experimental Middle School!
The summer camp lasted for seven days from July 8 to July 14, with 13 volunteers and 102 campers. Camp programs included Mandarin, law, arts, dance, music, martial arts, and recitation. It created a memorable summer for the students in Liangshan.
Camp Opening Day
As a Fu Hui Liangshan project team member, former Fu Hui Teaching Vocational School student Ge Guo Mo Zuo attended the opening ceremony as Fu Hui representative , wishing for a successful summer camp.
Li Xuliang, representative of the summer camp volunteer team, wished students would learn new knowledge and improve themselves at the summer camp.
Ji Huo Mo Li Zuo, student representative of Huili Experimental Middle School, expressed her gratitude to the college student volunteers.She looked forward to summer camp life speaking of delightful anticipation.

Summer camp curriculum review
01 Law Class
"What is law? Why should we study law?" Teacher He Hongyan opened the door to law and shared general legal theoretical knowledge. The first lesson that Teacher Wang Yulan brought to the children was about the dangers of drugs and saying no to drugs .
Volunteers combined legal regulations with games to help children understand how rumors can spread, harm that online rumors can cause and the legal liabilities of spreading internet rumors.
Through videos, students were reminded of the dangers of forest fires. Through legal discussions and case studies, campers were guided to think about feasible measures to prevent forest fires.
02 Mandarin/Facilitation Class
In the Mandarin and facilitation course, everyone first spoke in various dialects. Teachers Sun Yinghang and Wang Zirui guessed each other's meaning in different dialects to help the children realize the benefits of learning Mandarin and speaking it well. "Only when everyone speaks Mandarin can Chinese from everywhere communicate with each other." Then, the two teachers introduced the origin of Mandarin to everyone. Through the Mandarin and facilitation course, teacher Sun Yinghang hopes that children can be more confident, enthusiastic and a better version of themselves.
"Facing the sea, warm spring and blooming flowers ". The children recited poems beautifully, expressing their aspirations for the future.
03 Art class
"What is beauty? What do you think is beautiful?" Teacher Zhang Zherui led the children on a journey through the world of art. He used humour to help the children perceive and appreciate beautiful things. Feeling beauty step by step, and letting the concepts they want to express appear on paper.
04 Dance/Music Class
In the morning dance class, teacher Wang Mengqian led the children to do dance moves. The children became proficient through practice and danced gracefully to the music. In the afternoon music class, teacher Yang Xiaoya led the children to understand sheet music theory, and sing pop songs to cultivate interest in music.
05 Martial Arts Class
“Civilized in spirit, barbaric in body” Teacher Li Jinzhou taught martial arts to enable the children to strengthen their bodies and relax both their bodies and the minds. They feel the charm of Chinese martial arts and cultivated a warrior spirit.
Under the guidance of volunteers, the children quickly understood the essentials of martial arts and wielded short sticks with style, showing the heroic spirit of martial arts practitioners.
06 Psychology class
In the first lesson of the psychology class, teacher Cao Yunyi taught the children about "awareness". Through interactive Q&A and learning, the children understood that there were no good or bad emotions. We should be aware of our feelings in real time and accept all emotions.
In the courage game, the children covered their eyes to perceive the people and objects around them without the use of their vision.
07 Evening activities
The stars twinkled as the night grew darker. Volunteers and children sang, danced and played in the playground; or sat in groups, talked and shared their troubles and joys, gradually getting closer to each other.

01 Poetry Recitation
Junior high grade 2 students recited the poem "Spring". “Strong Youth, Strong Country”. Junior high grade 1 students recited the poem "I am proud, I am Chinese".
02 Martial arts performance
Junior high grades 1 & 2 students jointly presented the martial arts performance "The Elephant King's Sword Dance".
03 Song chorus
Junior high grade 1 students sang "Life is Like Summer Flowers"; junior high grade 2 students sang "Farewell My Friend".
04 Volunteers performance
The volunteers happily sang "The Ordinary Road", hoping that the children could uphold their original aspirations to move forward.
05 Certificates Presentation
Su Zhengmin, leader in charge of Fu Hui Alumni Ayi Special Education Fund, presented certificates to the children. He hoped the children would continue to work hard to become outstanding people.
